Although Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle injury at the end of the first half. However, the Kansas City Chiefs managed to come from behind and claim victory.
Mahomes made history as the 13th quarterback to win the Super Bowl more than once. Previously, he also helped the Chiefs beat the San Francesco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV in 2020.
He was not the most prominent figure in this fight due to his ankle problem. However, he was able to maximize every opportunity to hurt the Eagles.
Mahomes finished the game having recorded 21 of 27 for 182 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He also recorded 44 rushing yards despite an unfit ankle.
The quarterback played well in the first half, but his stats were limited in the second as the Eagles dominated the ball. At half-time, the Eagles had the ball for almost 22 minutes while the Chiefs only had eight.
Trouble arrived just before half-time when Mahomes was tackled and injured his ankle. The Eagles trailed 14-24 at half-time, but refused to give up and were able to turn the score around to 38-35 in the end.
Mahomes himself was named MVP after the success of the Kansas City Chiefs in beating the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also the MVP when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2020.
