This new prediction appears based on the launch history of the previous generation of consoles, namely PlayStation 4/PS4 (2013). Three years after the launch of the PS4, Sony announced the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in September 2016.

So, this year marks three years after the release of PlayStation 5 in 2020. That’s why, some rumors suggest that Sony will use the same schedule to release its new console this year, it could be the PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim, or even both, as compiled from Giz China.
