In September 2021, Xiaomi introduced its first wearable product in the form of smart glasses called Xiaomi Smart Glasses. Get ready to be tempted by this device, because these smart glasses are rich in features but are sold at a low price.
Now, the gadget company from China has launched a similar product again, but with a different name, namely the Mijia Glasses Camera.
The launch of the Mijia Glasses Camera was announced by Xiaomi through an official account on the microblogging platform China, Weibo. It is not stated whether Mijia Glasses Camera is a successor to Xiaomi Smart Glasses or not.
Xiaomi Mijia Smart Glass is a combination of ordinary glasses with augmented reality (AR) glasses. So users can remove the AR glasses when not in use.
These smart glasses do look futuristic, but they don’t seem to work all the time. Not only does the body look big, but it also weighs 100 grams.
In appearance, the Mijia Glasses Camera seems more “fierce” than Xiaomi Smart Glasses and doesn’t look like ordinary glasses.
On the right side (when viewed from the front), for example, these glasses have a module that holds two cameras.
The two cameras are arranged vertically, consisting of an 8 MP “periscope” telephoto camera and a 50 MP main camera. The periscope camera features optical zoom (optical zoom) of up to 5x and digital zoom of up to 15x.
Apart from that, the camera on the Mijia Glasses Camera is also claimed to be able to capture pictures and videos stably with the help of an optical image stabilizer (OIS).
On the left side, there are two cameras. The main camera is 50 MP which is accompanied by an 8 MP periscope camera equipped with OIS. The telephoto camera is capable of 5X optical zoom and 15x digital zoom.
While on the right side, there is an optic which has a micro OLED screen made by Sony with a maximum brightness level of 3,000 nits, a pixel density of 3,281 ppi and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. Do not miss the TUV certificate for blue light levels to maintain eye health.
Talking about the kitchen, Xiaomi capitalizes on its smart glasses with a Snapdragon chip combined with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. WiFi support, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 1,020 mAh battery with 10W magnetic charging are also provided.
There is also an artificial intelligence (AI) technology feature, aka AI Camera, which allows these smart glasses to translate various foreign language texts.
One of them is translating Chinese text or writing into English and vice versa.
Other supporting features include support for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, WiFi, and fast charging via a magnetic charger, to support running various augmented reality (AR) applications.
The plan is for the Mijia Glasses Camera to be sold exclusively in China on August 3, 2022, as summarized by KompasTekno from Slashgear, Tuesday (2/8/2022).
Mijia Glasses Camera smart glasses are sold at a price of 2,500 yuan (around Rp. 5.5 million) through a crowdfunding event held by Xiaomi.
There is no information yet on whether the Mijia Glasses Camera will also be marketed in countries outside of China, such as Indonesia, or not. We’ll just wait.
